The inaugural race in Austin, Texas was unfortunately disappointing for the Silver Arrows, as Michael’s first set of tyres failed to deliver performance and Nico showed reasonable pace but was hindered by his starting position after struggling in qualifying.
Michael showed he still has plenty of speed as he set the sixth fastest qualifying time in a clearly improved W03. Nico ran an old-spec exhaust for development purposes and struggled in 17th place.
In the teams press conference, this weekend it was Norbert Haug’s turn to answer some of the question by the Formula 1 media.
The Circuit of the Americas made its Formula One debut today with the first two practice sessions taking place at the 5.513 km purpose-built track in Austin, Texas.
After a 5 year absence Formula 1 returns to the USA! With a brand new purpose built facility hosting the 2012 US Grand Prix in Austin Texas, The Circuit of Americas becomes the 10th Venue to hold the event.
