With their speed in Qualifying one would think that Mercedes would be winning races. However this unfortunately has not been the case so far, but could this all change in Monaco? Spanish GP winner Fernando Alonso seems to think so! Alonso has come out this week saying that he thinks Monaco will be Mercedes time .

It normally doesn’t start until the summer break but F1 is already in the grip of silly season! The questions over where the drivers will be next year truly began after the Malaysian Grand Prix and that infamous team order incident at Red Bull. Now it is the turn of Mercedes to have their driver line up questioned.

After the euphoria of Qualifying yesterday, it was back down to earth for Mercedes with a difficult race day. With the cars still hard on their tyres Rosberg managed to bring the car home in 6th, while Hamilton was unable to get points finishing in 12th.

What a beautiful qualifying session for Mercedes! A front row lock out, with Rosberg on Pole position, and showing their strength and speed in all 3 qualifying sessions.

After a three week break Formula One is back, and it is the beginning of the European start of the season. Mercedes will be hoping that they are able to continue on an upward trend for the rest of the season. The team’s main focus has been on creating less wear on the rear tyres, and they will be hoping that the upgrades will have an effect on this.
